The AIDS Test Rap

There is a contest (at http://www.aminutecontest.com) that encourages people to submit material that may be used to encourage people to get tested for HIV/AIDS.
This is what I wrote:
It only takes a minute.
Had I known this, I never would have missed
Getting that test
Now I'm having night sweats,
Fevers, and chills, and
There are no pills I can take
To cure this virus,
It's inside us now
Because I was never tested
Now our lives have been wrested
From our hands.

New infections every day,
People need to know that there's a way
To prevent infection-
It's called detection.
No one wants to see someone die
From something they could've prevented,
Especially a kid.
Now you know what you've got to do,
So go get tested-
Do the right thing-
And save a life or two.
